Where will you be going in Canada?
Toronto is fabulous. Theatre, music, try Young St at late night...., clean, safe. Universities, gov't buildings, restaurants...excellent

Umm, it's a big place - I was born and lived here all my life and haven't seen all there is to see. Let's see:
BC - go to Vancouver, Okanagan valley (wine tasting), Vancouver Island.
AB - visit Calgary in July and see the Stampede (world's largest rodeo), Edmonton for the world's largest mall.
SK - prairie and more prairie.
Manitoba - Winnipeg has lots of history but wouldn't be my first choice in all of Canada.
Ontario - go to Niagara falls and the area. Toronto offers big city options - go to a hockey game or baseball game.
Quebec - Quebec City is a must, especially the old walled city. Very old European feel. Montreal is full of culture, see a ballet or theatrical show.
Maritimes (east) definitely a must. Go to Peggy's Cove near Halifax to see the famous lighthouse. Drive the Cabot trail and see the spectacular cliffs. Go to Prince Edward Island and see the red clay beaches and drive back across the 13km bridge.

If your going to the east, don't miss Quebec-City, Montréal, Ottawa and Toronto. Otherwise I would also recommend British Columbia for any kind of outdoor activity!

Where in specific are you thinking of going? If you can only go to one area, pick British Columbia, Beautiful scenery, hot springs, skiing, and Vancouver Island is one of the best places in the world to do trail hiking or bike riding. If you want to see more of Canada, try the Yukon and North West Territories, cause up North you can actually get the feeling of how big this country really is. But definitely keep in mind that a trip if your taking a train or bus, say Vancouver to Calgary, will be at least a 12 hour trip.

Vancouver, and, in general, British Columbia. There is a well-balanced mixture of metropolis and raw nature, all with the flavour of a small town

Hey Tea, my friend....lots of must see places. If on the east coast, try to visit the Bay of Fundy, Cabot Trail and even Gros Morne....if in Quebec don't mix the old Quebec City and Montreal is a fave party city for almost anyone. If on Ontario, then Ottawa is obligatory for touristy stops like Parliament and Byward market and eating a beaver tail ;) Niagara Falls is obviously popular in Ontario too. Toronto is, honestly, not the most exciting spot to visit, but worth a few days if you have time. In Alberta, for scenery you must visit Lake Lousie, Jasper and Banff parks...amazing. In BC the Rocky Mountains are great (but not much different than the Alps probably), maybe try soem White Water Rafting there if you go (otherwise Ottawa is fun too). Some good Wineries exist in Kelowna or Niagara on the Lake as well.
That is jsut a start...to do all of that you'd need a month at least....if you want to visit a lot of Canada, consider buying a train pass...otherwise just select 2 or 3 spots to visit and focus on them, we're a LOT bigger than Switzerland!

It's a big country, where are you going in Canada? In the central part I would definitely see Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto, possibly Ottawa (I am from Ottawa and there's not much besides Parliament). West coast, Vancouver and Victoria are must sees. East coast there's Halifax and Prince Edward Island which are both beautiful

If you are going to western Canada (Alberta, in particular), you must see Banff and Jasper national parks. Banff is about an hours drive west of Calgary. Drive up the icefields parkway between Banff and Jasper. Very scenic drive with a glacier that extends right down to the highway.

Canada is a nice country to be in. The big view, the multicultural zone you can visit. The economy is pretty huge and take time to get use to. Life in Canada will go smooth for any people who find it relaxing and enjoyable...
