Hey, Bucharest is a very interresting city, a bit dirty, but you can see former wealth in some neighbourhoods. The food quality is pretty high and some bar very enjoyable. The metro is very good and cheap and takes you anywhere. If you get a chance to stay longer go to Transilvania, Brasov for instance, this is very beautiful and the people are a it more friendly.

Very interesting city historically, but not exactly beautiful. It didnt seem to happy to me either compared to other places in Romania. But maybe that was just how I saw it.

Nice people, kinda cheap, not a whole lot to see or do, but why not? I was glad we stopped, if only for the night.

If you are going to stay at the Butterfly Villa Hostel DO NOT read the directions from the Lonely Planet guide books. We had the most recent version of Europe on a Shoestring and the address was wrong. This caused my girlfriend and I to lost in a random suburb of Bucharest in the sleet at 9-10pm. So all I can say is if you plan to stay at Butterfly Villa get the directions from their web page.
