Chill on the beach and meet some real friendly people. I spent a week in Nukuʻalofa back in the early 90's (Navy). We found a nice beach house/bar and just chilled out mostly. There are Mormon churches on like every street corner; a Mormon family snatched me off the street and took me home for dinner. My favorite thing was bicycling around the area.

The only name of "Tonga" was gonna make me say WHALES... Man, it's my dream... I've seen and heard so much about it. You might realize how insignificant the world is after that experience !!! Good luck

He that s good feed ! Thank you Casey. Yes I plan to swim with whales aswell ! So existing ! I plan to meet people and NOT to stay stuck on the beach. Kave and church service seem good plans. And about the protest, I guess that respect for the King (who is just coronated last week) has to be expressed ! As a fact I m a teacher and I d like to give some help in the schools... I think they need it.

I havent been, but my cousin used to live there and a friend just went, they bth commented that Tonga is really small and really quite poor, the island of haapai has great beaches and you can go sailing, my cousin swam with whales. Its a chilled out holiday, but they do have a great culture, make sure to drink kava and go to a church service! There some political unease, i think theres still protests etc, avoid those!
