after 15 years of visits and organizing guided art tours to moscow: may is an excellent time to visit moscow - mostly warm and sun, not often raining.

It can still be chilly in May, but it can also start to be very warm; the best recommendation is to pack layers for this time of year so you can add/take off as you go to be most comfortable

Last year it was fairly warm (80's F). I's still pack a lightweight jacket. Also, there is the chance of rain. Don't plan on taking a public bus out of Moscow the weekend around May 9th (or any long weekend) as the traffic is bad. Try to get to St. Basil's at night. That was amazing!

In this part of Europe you never know. Some years you have very warm may and sametimes is quite cold. You shoud take some jacket and blause with log slaves but don't be afraid the weather shoud be quite warm

Take warm clothes and even bonnets. I went to Russia in August and it was freezing. I even bought a scarp to protect my ears. see if the Bolshoi Ballet.

It schould be warm already (but of course you newer know with the weather). Generally in May you schould be able to walk in short sleve and long pants (At least I would do so bout I'm from cold climate :P) It schould be around 20C. But as my Mom always sas... Son pack your sweater and jacket :P. Forget about winter clothes.May 1 is a labor day so there will be manifestation of working class on the street (can be funn to see old people with red flags and lenin portrets), May 9 is in Russia aniversary of ending WW II and it's quite big deal there. There for sure will be some military parade and "street drinking"
