Kuta is defenetely the place to party. I is a waste of money to fly to Bali and party in Kuta and miss all the rest of the island. There is so many nice places in Bali, Kuta is the worst. Advice: Bedugul is a nice village, a bit up in the mountains.

Try the Hard Rock Hotel located off Kuta Beach. Kuta Beach is hip and great for surfers too. Hard Rock Hotel is pretty hip - their restaurant (facing the sea front) usually have bands that are pretty good. Last time I was there (last year) a Filipino band played 'Stairway to Heaven' perfectly - it really wowed us! Behind the hotels and shop (just 15 mins walk) you will find their version of the high street where you will find all sorts of shops, restaurants (seafood), Starbucks, etc, etc. You will never get bored and not really want to venture into the city centre.

Don't party! see what kind of people live their and try to understand. don't waste your time drinking, You can do that at home!

Kuta I guess, but try to get to the Gili Islands, it's like a dream!

Party is definitely in Kuta/Seminyak area. Since the island is not that big, mostly I stayed out of "mass tourism" area. "partying time" in Bali is mostly during the celebration and or weekend! You still can do the visit for sightseeing that back to Kuta area for partying.

1st choice: Kuta, 2nd: Seminyak

If you want some party resort in Bali, you should head towards Kuta.. There's really no place like it. And for the hotels, I guess the bounty hotel is the best place and quiet cheap.. Or the Hard Rock hotel if you have abit much money.. My tip: Bounty hotel !

Not the Bounty -that's trashy. Try further up the beach in Seminyak for quality parties - KuDeTa, Living Room, Huu Bar, Gado Gado

The Bounty, or Bali Hard Rock Hotel right on Kuta Beach ! ...... Sary used to be the place, but saddly doesn't exist anymore ! .......

For just a party, the Bounty Hotel in Kuta never stops. Be warned, if you're not in the 18-25 group though you will feel your age and tire of the groggy clientale.

I will definately get out for the cultural experience but would also like a fun place to stay. I believe in a comprimise of culture and party. :)
