i did ... it was nice, but later on looks overexposed. our best visit start 3 years ago and now degrading due to the pollution and reclamation on the mainland. but you still can visit. nice snorkeling there and group of dolphins :)

bunaken is quite ok. but i think intensive diving has done damage. i liked the togian islands (about 5 hours by car to gorontalo and 14 hours by ship from manado) much better. its more laid back, original, natural, and barely touched reefs

I've been to Sulawesi about 3 years ago. It was fantastic! Bunaken is great for people who like to see loads, Bangka is great for seeing big stuff as there is more current and Lembeh straight is brilliant for muck diving. Thalassa is a great diveschool with brilliant staff. They're in Tongkaina, near Manado. You could stay in Tongkaina aswell... there is the 4 fish guesthouse and Santika 4 star hotel.

I went diving there, but i thought the Lembeh Straight had more to offer, i think it's also good for snorkeling there.

Before it was a very nice place for snorkelling. You can also go to Lombok or in Banda islands.
