While in Marrakesh you should visit the Berbers, the native inhabitants of Morocco. They live at the bottom of Atlas Mountain. It's a very interesting visit, you'll taste their food and know about their lifestyle.

I spent last Christmas and New Year in Marocco and loved it! Marrakesh was point of entry and it really worth while spending time there exploring the old city and visiting parks and some of the new buildings. I used a local travel agent to help book accommodation in different places and they were also very helpful when it came to plan the trip around Marocco. They can be reached at: assiamsm@menara.ma Have fun exploring!

I was in Marrakech only a few days, so a saw little, but i definitely go back. It was truly breath taking. It was like if i landed in the middle of a fairytale.
Don't miss the amazing famous sqaure: 'place Djemaa el Fna'.
You never want to leave again. I would recommend to start there.
Check this website, it has really good tips and reviews:

Okay, drink lots of minttea, because it is delicious and refreshing, go there with empty suitcases so you can buy all the beautiful souvenirs and smelling spices, take enough time to see it all, accept locals invitation to come and dine with them! Eat great tajine and couscous!

Visit Djemaa el Fna square by day and by night as it has two different atmospheres, investigate the souks and the narrow winding alleyways beyond. From Marrakesh you can get a ticket from the central bus station across to Essouria out on the coast for a more relaxed laid back town. You can also go camel riding and horse riding from there too.

I would recommend getting lost in the souks and try eating at the night market it is a sight on the main square at night.

I recommend a visit to the desert, in 3 days we went to Ouarzazate and Zagora, passing through the Atlas, and spent the 2 night in a Jaimaa in the desert. The first night we went to the desert ..riding some camels! and the 2nd night we went there by 4x4... this could sound like a tour-operator organized activity, but it wasn't like that, we organized it talking to the guys of our Riad in Marrakech, they phoned to people in Zagora and found a driver and a mini-bus and everything was done quickly and at reasonable price.. when in the desert, we were free to hang around, at reasonable distance from the Jaimaa, and dinner, breakfast and accommodation was simple but fairly good..and the experience was unforgettable. Zagora is quite far from Marrakech but if you take your time and have a car, you can do it on your own (streets are not so bad..) and on site you can organize your excursions to the desert and your stay there

Definitly Ait Ben Haddou, and if you have the time spend some days in the Desert with Bereberes in Merzouga. You have nice hotels and you are in the middle of the Desert.
