As far as I know, there is only one hostel in Sacramento.

There is a nice one right in the heart of downtown. I've never stayed there, but passed by many times and admired it. Good location! Here is the link... http://www.norcalhostels.org/sac/

Be careful about hostels in Sacramento. It's in a pretty sketchy part of town. You would be better off springing a few bucks to stay in a cheap motel. There's a Motel 6 at Watt Avenue & I-80.
