When in Istanbul, stay in the Sultanahmet area..where both the Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque are located. It's a stunning area where you feel like you've just stepped back in time. There is a good tram system. The restaurants are fantastic, and don't be nervous about the 'hard sell', it's just their way. Get some street food then chill out on the banks of the Bosphorous for a cheap meal with a priceless view. If you're a bit adventurous, check out a Galatasaray soccer match - they're quite fanatical!

To look for? See answers above. To lookout for? Waiters in touristy areas; bus drivers from Pamukkale to Cappadocia - they try to rip you off; touts in Kapali Carsi (big bazaar) in Istanbul - annoying, rude and asking too much money.

Try and see some of the Greco-Roman ruins along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts and surrounding area such as Ephesus, Aphrodisias, Milet, Didyma, Fethiye, Caunos (near Dalyan, and of course a visit to Dalyan turtle beach). It all depends upon your interests and reasons for going to Turkey.

Pamukkale, is a natural site and attraction in south-western Turkey. It is recognized as a World Heritage Sites. The tectonic movements gave rise to the emergence of a number of very hot springs. Ephesus, the ruins are a favorite international and local tourist attraction.
