In 2004/2005 I stayed arround 5 weeks in Goa, and lived in numberous different places. My absolut favourite is Benaulim Beach. It's quiet and has good service on the beach side. People are laid back. There I stayed in Rosario's Inn, which is a clean, though low budget accomodation with a lot of charme. per night 250-350Rs.

Just got back from Goa, stayed at a nice hotel near the Arrosim Beach in South Goa about 20 min from the airport. The beach was a less than 5 min walk from the hotel the water was quite warm and the beach very peaceful and not very crowded. The name of the hotel was Heritage Village, Id say a 3 star at about 1500Rs a night.

This is almost impossible to answer without more detail on what you're looking for. The whole coast is full of hotels - from shoe-string style to luxury. Where in Goa do you plan to be and what is your budget? I stayed in a place called Princessa de Goa between Candolim and Calangute. It was only around 800R per night, had a balcony, TV and hot water, and walking distance from a quiet peaceful beach. I have also stayed at various other budget places so will help out of you give a clearer idea of what you want.

Depends which beach your planning to go to. Rooms with warm water start around 500 INr off-season and can go up to 10000+ INR during season, depending on the hotel.
