rambuttri road is the perfect place to stay. At the river is an express boat, you can go to chinatown for only 13 bath. you have to try te banana pancakes, so good.... oh we did an cycling tour with co van kessel, i will do this excursion the next time again. you're going to bike across the streets of china town and across the river.

Take a bus from the airport instead of the expensive cabs or find 2 other people to share one with. Stay in Ko San area. Tuk Tuks are always more expensive then taxis. Never take a taxi without the meter on. Everything is cheaper on ebay then Thailand. Street food is great. Try chicken hearts from a street grill. Try the free Dr. Fish feet soak if you buy a beer on Ko San. Floating market day trip but use a travel agent so you dont get ripped off. Ping Pong show is good if you have friends with you otherwise disturbing. China Town use bus number 32 from Ko San area. If you have time to go to Chaing Mai make sure you do the Tiger Kingdom but dont go to the Bangkok one. Songkran Festival April 13th – 15th, 2011 the whole country has a water fight for 3 days and its amazing.

I stayed at Novotel Hotel, downtown. It's near to the shopping centers. MBK is the most popular it's huge and you can find whatever you want from designer clothes and international brands, faked brands, supermarkets, restaurants, souvenirs, bookshops, music shops... Patpong is where you can find goods that are sold on stalls. The price is reasonable and they open till late at night. As for food, it's delicious. you can eat exotic fruit and sea food wherever you want even in the street.

I'd choose a hostel on Rambutri Road, as Kao San Road is not the place to stay if you intend to sleep at night. Rambutri Road is just next to it, so you can easily make your way to Kao San to enjoy the nightlife. As for shopping, the large mall MBK is the place to go - you'll find everything there.

Go to Kausan Road or Ramputi road in Bangkok, Thats the backpack area. You have good and cheap places to sleep, Good food at the small food stalls at the road side. Als good shopping at the Banglampu market, you gone love t, been there 3 times, Its zo relaxt vibe. good hotel is Star dome in. and Ban Sabai guesthouse at rambuti road, have fun there.
