The best flight connection from europe is to travel with iberia airline over spain directly to quito. rates you can see on their online booking. There is a domestic airlin in ecuador who flies to galapagos. a price example for july 2010 was in 10/2009 about 350 € for round trip / 1 person.

well galapagos is very very very very expensive. I did not afford to go. Look at LAN flights (far better than iberia wich is crap, they fly with iberia) try to find a connection till quayaquil (ecuador, better than quito, easier to got to galapagos as it should (underlined) be less crowded than from quito). from guayaquil to the galapagos there's the plane (360$ 1h30min) u have to book very very very early, best almost 2 years before. hostels and hotels in the different islands cost between 10$ (bad range) and 150$, it's up to u.

Only tame and aerogal fly to galapagos, from either Quito or Guayaquil, both cities in Ecuador. There is no other realistic way to the islands. You should be able to get tickets online through tame, and maybe aerogal. if you want to do a live aboard cruise of 16 to 60 passengers book a cruise and the flight will be included in the price. If you want to try and get a cheaper deal you can do last minute bookings from a tourist shop in la mariscal area of quito. You will find travel agencies all over the place with signs in the windows. I only recommend this if you have time and can be flexible. If you have limited vacation time, book everything before going so as to not miss the chance to go.

A good connection and cheap is indeed Iberia or Lann. Never book al Galapagos trip ahead. Go to Quito and book there a last minute. Saves you at least 1/3 off the price. Or contact www.galapagoslastminutes.com they will help further for lastminutes. If you want to see alot at Galapagos, at round trip by boat is cheapest.

The cheapest way is to go swimming. Though it is not the easiest way. The easiest way is very expensive. You cannot combine these two factors when travelling to Galapagos

Everywhere on the island will probably be expensive. However, if you are coming all the way from Europe, I would invest in a double-trip. I would not travel to Ecuador without visiting Quito and the surrounding area (great city, surrounded by gorgeous equatorial volcanoes, hot springs, etc.). From there you can catch a flight that stops in Guayaquil and then to the Gallapagos.

When I went to Ecuador, it was cheaper to go Lisbon-Madrid-Bogota-Quito, than directly from Lisbon-Madrid to Quito - it saved us 300€ each! Only problem: the nr of times that we were searched at Bogota. But worth the money! To the Galapagos, the flight was around 360-400USD, but we went from Guayaquil to Baltra and back to Quito via Guayaquil (always). It wasn't that bad, I don't remember the airline. It's cheaper if you go from Guayaquil, but it's several hours by bus from Quito. But you also have direct flights from Madrid to Guayaquil, I don't know the price.

remember, that you have to pay an extra entry fee in Galapagos just for beeing a foreign person (local people pay also but much much less). It cost about 100 dolars or more, and the rest is also pretty expensive.

Lead-Adventures, the local experts in Quito that universities trust with their volunteer projects, offers a three-week, comprehensive volunteer experience in the Galapagos Islands. The projects that participants undertake are designed to restore the balance of the environment that is damaged by the tourist industry. By making this project available they bridge the gap for backpackers who would like to visit the islands and would otherwise pay twice as much for the same amount of time travelling. One week is spent exploring and working on Santa Cruz, the next discovering the beauty of San Cristobal, and the third is a week spent care-free on Isabela. The cost of the trip is 1590.00 with accommodation and meals included with the exception of the last weekend on Santa Cruz. They also can arrange round trip airfare for 435.00,extend the trip for two weeks, and co-ordinate Spanish classes in Quito. One month notice is required to arrange the details. For more information contact Jon Jared at Jon.jared@lead-adventures.com

I suggest the cheapest way would be from Madrid on Iberia. Ecuador is a Spanish speaking country. You might be able to fly to Quito from Amsterdam on KLM on a special fare. It might be possible to fly there via the USA if any special fares come up. You could get a flight from Quito to the Galapagos Islands for around $300 t0 $400. Good luck with your trip.

How about flying from Madrid, Spain to Quito, Ecuador and then taking a flight from there to Galapagos Islands.
