Beijing will be very cold or even snow, although places like Hong-Kong or Macau, degrees won't drop as down, but the humidity mixed with some cold weather could be surprisingly chilly, usually it is worst in February or during the Chinese New Year. March is usually warmer.

Beijing will be really cold in early March, though it will get a lot milder around the beginning of April. Hong Kong should be OK, it won't be as muggy as later on in the year (when I was in HK it was early March and a good jumper was enough at the time).

Was in Beijing in late March, and I was fine with a long sleeve shirt or a light jacket. It can surprise you and get warm around that time. I was in Guangzhou, not far from Hong Kong, and it was in the 80s around the same time.

I was in Beijing in February and it was pretty chilly (-8degC or so). But I had a jacket, gloves and a hat and it was fine. It was actually good in a lot of ways that it was cold, because it deterred a lot of tourists away from doing things outside...we had the Great Wall (from Jinshaling to Simitai) virtually to ourselves! :)

February is usually the end of Winter for Beijing and Hong Kong, but it is still pretty darn cold in March. I would suggest taking a swearter or jacket, or even buying one there or having one made for you. The weather will get a little warmer by the end of March, but you are going to want to have that jacket.

Hong Kong is around 60F normally, but there isn't a lot of sunlight during the day. Depending on where you are from you could go without a jacket and buy a nice and affordable on at the market before you head up to Beijing. The markets will be hunger with less tourist, so you can get better deals :)

I was in Beijing last year in februari and it was 20 degrees Celcius. They say that there is no spring in Beijing. Temperature goes from -5 degrees Celcius to +10 in 1 week Take a warm jacket with you

In March, you will be cold in Beijing, BUT there are a lot less crowds and it is beautiful, with frozen lakes. Just drink lots of jasmine tea and carry one of those portable hot water bottles.

In HK the weather is getting warm in march, usually it is not cold anymore. In Beijing you should bring some thicker clothes. I was there in April and it was still quite cold, but a normal jacket should be enough!
