Travel with Hainan Airlines, they're very relaxt. The dongfang hotel is a lovely hotel. Public transport is no problem, very cheap. we saw Beijing in 3 days.

China is my favorite place so far, if you're still wondering if you go there or not, GOO!!!! I live in Beijing, and there's plenty of things to do, see. With 2 weeks, you should be good to see everything and go out :)

Yes Marco is right the coolest trip ever, it took me 4 weeks form central europe. Stopped a few times sibiria is a wonderfull place and it was worth to pay double price of a flight

Go to russia and get a train to beijing haha..its way cooler, so u can stop by mongolia and siberia =D and its cheeper if ure comming from europe.

Get a Visa, Find a cheap flight and go. beijing is a nice and safe place. alot to see.

take a visa tourism (L) for 3months max and come, find someone who can make an attestation as it u can choose ur hotel when u arrived and be free to travel where u want. have nice trip
