The temperature is indeed something to consider, as well as some hygienic measures (bottled water and extra caution with fresh raw vegetables)
But the Egyptians are reaaally kind to children, they really love them. I experienced it when I was 10 as a boy and a year ago with my half sister (3 years old)
Non of us became sick in both trips, and we also ate at local street restaurants.

Crossing major roads (with 4-8+ lanes) in Cairo can be a bit tricky as an adult, let alone a small child, so keep that in mind. You end up playing "frogger" in between cars that zoom by! I never felt unsafe in Egypt and saw lots of parents with yong children in tow, so I imagine it's fine.

Egypt is pretty safe, but you do have to keep an eye out: two year olds will put anything in their mouths and diarrhea is no fun. Bottled water only.

for sure dont go there in summer, it's much too hot for kids there! I dont recommend Hurgada for small children, its too loud, too crowded there.

I don't think it's a good idea... Your child could have some problems with stomach... They have differect bacterial flora, when I was in Egypt year ago for 2 week trip i was sick 1 week so... ;/

I have a two and a half year old boy and a six month old girl. I am leaving Egypt for a few more years. When I go there I will do so in the spring or the autumn. I would go to see the pyramids at Giza and then from Cairo I would take the train to Luxor. I would have a boat ride on the River Nile. I would then go to Hugharda for some time on the beach.

I just returned from Aswan two weeks ago and have traveled to several places throughout the Middle East and would have to agree with Ju L's comment. Although the weather is nice this time of year it may not be the safest nor entertaining for a two year old. In addition, if needed adequate medical assistance for your child may be an issue as well.

may be a bit difficult. egypt can be very hot and smoggy and tourist areas will be very crowded. i think in terms of enjoyment as well it's not the sort of place a kid would really love. traffic wise egypt is difficult to maneouver for an adult as it is, let alone one with a child. wait till they're a bit older or consider leaving them behind.
