Bocas del Toro Questions

I am heading to Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica and Bocas del Toro, Panama. I'm goin with a friend and what we are looking for is great nature during the day and LOTS of parties at night. We are really nightlife goers! What one should spend more time? Bocas or Puerto Viejo ?

I've stayed in Puerto Viejo for 2 weeks and 5 days in Bocas. If you're looking for nice beaches, snorkelling and boattrips and nightlife go to Bocas del Toro. However if you want to visit nature parks, Puerto Viejo is a good town to stay at, there are many opportunities to go from there for daytrips (sloth rescue centre, jaguar rescue centre, bribri cacao farms, cahuita national park), but the nightlife is not really great in Puerto viejo. It depends on how much time you have to spend, you could plan to go 4/5 days to bocas and party en cycle to nice snorkel-beaches during the day. Then go to Puerto Viejo to see more nature and stuff for about 4/5 days too
