Lyon Questions

Question asked in : Lyon - 3 years ago

I love pan-seared foie gras with fruit based sauce. Am going Lyon for a day and would like an unforgetable dining experience involving pan-seared foie gras. Any good recommendations?

This dish is typical from southeastern France and as such will not be found in usual restaurants in Lyon. So if you really want that instead of the local cuisine, you might find it either in a SouthEastern Restaurant (look for Le Pailleron which used to be very good but apparently comments on Internet say the quality has faded away...) or else in a gastronomic restaurant (but much more expensive). You should try "La brasserie Léon" which used to be a 2-star Michelin restaurant before turning in a brasserie and has some great foie gras, though not poëlé with fruit based sauce...

Check out any of Paul Bocuse's restaurants. I went to L-Ouest and I think they had it there, but I am not entirely sure.

make some friends at a museum and get a good home cooked meal... always better than the restaurants!
