Everyone knocks it but I have no problem with Chung King Mansions on Nathan Road in Hong Kong. The rooms are small, but apparently that's standard for all of HK. The one I had was cheap, clean safe and friendly. Bottom floors is small wholesaler type stores, its the kind of place you might go if you were interested in buying a couple of hundred cell phones to schlepp back to Africa to peddle. It looks a bit rough, but theyre mostly just street market type guys, and perfectly harmless.

I would recommend against any of the guesthouse/hostels in Mirador Mansion in Kowloon; they were pricier and came with cockroaches and a shower-and-toilet in one option; cramped and dirty

I stayed at the Wang Fat Hostel in the Fashion Row district of HK. Found it safe, reasonable and clean. The street level of the building and those around are boutiques etc and the hostel is located in several different upper floors. The metro and airport bus are nearby too.

in KL u can stay in Bukit Bintang...there are lots of cheap hotel...or maybe u can go to Sultan Ismail by Monorail and u can find cheaper hotel there..

you can get a good hostel in petling st, chinatown in KL, just look them up on the net, there reasonably priced and its an ok area

In Kowloon ,How Chow min Masion very nice hostals, they have lot of hostals inside the building and you can bargering about the price. For 10 euros you can stay in a hostal its depend what you want offcourse but the rooms are very thiny and very clean. Goodluck!

I stayed at the YMCA in Hong Kong...smallest bathrooms I have ever seen!! You could sit to poo poo, brush your teeth at the sink, and take a shower, all at the same time!!!

I stayed at the dragon star hostel in Kowloon, HK. Nice little place, just realize it's all going to be sketchy on the cheap. Look at hostelworld for the best deals.

i stayed in kowloon which is right next to hong kong island in a hostel called 'las vegal hostel' on nathan road! It's in a massive building called chunging mansions, it looks abit dodgy but it's alrite and the hostel was very cheap, clean, tidy, staff very friendly!
