Hey Heather! Go for both sides, absolutely! There are big differences. The Brazil side you can take a helicopter ride of the falls (very cool), but that is not possible on the Argentina side. There are many panorama photos on the Brazilian side when you walk along the "waterfall path". There are lots of trails to enjoy. The Argentina side lets you get much closer to the waterfalls, including the Devils throat. Therer is also a little train ride too and the boat ride to go 'under' the falls. In short - you must do both sides to get the best experience, but the Argentina side offers a bit more excitement I think.

Argentina.. more impressive because you can go nearer to the falls. More to do in the park and cheaper.
Brasil is also nice though because you get the better oversight of the falls.

I would recommend both if you have time, but if you don't, go on the Argentina side: it's wilder, less crowded, you can get much closer to the falls. The Brazilian side has a good view, but it will be hard to get a picture with less than 20 people on it

I visited the both sides in one day, it's a little rush but it worthed.. I think it's important to visit the both sides, since the views are really different.
If you have to choose one side, I would dedicate more time to Argentinian one. In Brazilian side there are more thrilling activities (boat rides..), but Argentinian side it's really huge, you can actually trek up and down for several hours and see a lot of hidden spots and many different points of view of the waterfalls, and even get more in contact with the nature..

See both. Argentina's side is maybe a little better, but if you are in Brazil anyway, you dn't really need to choose.

Yes, both sides are nice. However, if you come from a country that needs a visa to enter Brazil, and you do not have the visa, do not feel you miss anything if you cannot go to the Brazil side. You will be awe struck from the Argentine side.

I think you should see them in Argentina. There you have a big park, can walk around, see different falls and stay the whole day. When you go there you should start with the small falls and do the big one at the end!
Have a nice trip!

Argentinian side, absolutly, there are lots of trails thru the falls and more to see. Brazilian side only you have a spectacular view but most of the falls are on the Argentinian side.

Let s put it this way: If you can do both, do the Brazilian side first. If you have to choose between the two. Go for the Argentinian side.

It's much prettier from the Argentinian side. If you're going to do both start with the Brazilian side because if you'll go from the Arg side to Braz side you'll just get disappointed cause in comparason braz is nothing special. You just see the waterfall from a distance while you can literally touch it from the Arg side.

Both sides definitely if you have time! From Brazilian side you get the better perspective and view on the whole falls, but in Argentina you are much closer, you can even take a boat that drives you through the falls where you get completely wet!

Actually when you visit Foz do Iguaco it is very easy to see both sides. When went there a spent a day on each side, on Argetninas side you have a larger national park that you go through to get to the waterfalls, but on the Brazilian side they offer things like "rafting" right up to the waterfalls (which is amazing by the way), and árvorismo in which you are fastened to a rope and kind of swing and climb very hig up (also a lot of fun). The waterfalls look completely different from the two sides and it is defintely worth it visiting both sides. I hope this helped :)

As we all seem to say do both - the devils throat is just awesome. It just has to be the greatest waterfall experience in the world!

hola heather. You should see iguazu from both sides... they're the same waterfalls but the view is completely different and the two of them are absolutely breathtaking. it's not expensive at all to go from one side to the other and it's worthy. If you've some more days go to ciudad el este in paraguay, it's one of the biggest market of the world and you cAn find there very cheap electronic equipment. i bought there my camera, it was a very good business!

I agree with what everyone is saying, if you have an extra half a day, see it from both sides. However, for anyone who is reading this and is American, if you are only planning on going to Brazil for this, just stick with the Argentinian side because there is a hefty visa for entrance to Brazil if you have an American passport.

I would also recommend you to visit both! lol there are big diferences between both, if you'r looking for something very touristic i would suggest the Brazilian side, and if you'r looking for a less touristic are then the Argentinian side... it depends, but it is not that difficult to get both, so thats the best answer, and if u can get a local person to help you with then better yet, cause people there are not very trustworthy i must admit... as i am argentinian i would say that in the argetinian side you would get the best of both, great views and less crowded. Enjoy it there anyways!

I prefer Argentina if I had to choose. You can get really up-close and personal with the falls. But, it is super easy to see it from both sides, even if you only have a few days.

If your not too tight on time, i would recommend visiting both sides. They offer different views of the different waterfalls and offer different experiences in whole. If you had to do one or the other i wouldn't think twice about recommending the Argentinian side of the falls. There is more to see, you can spend more time there...........the experience is amazing and i will guarantee you will have an amazing day. If you get the chance to see both, its well worth it but don't cram it into one day!!! Have fun!

I would do both! The boat ride under the falls on the Argentinian side is a thrill (don't forget to wear a cozzie/wet weather gear). The Gargantua del Diablo (Devil's throat) is incredible with birds flying through the spray from the waterfall in a circular motion. The Brazilian side on the other hand will give you a more panaromic perspective of the falls rather than a close up one. If I had to choose, I would say the Argentinian side is better (and for Australians you don't then need to purchase a visa for Brazil). Enjoy - it is an incredible experience! :)
