Ecuador is much more divers than Jordan. While in Jordan you will go to see Petra and the Red Sea maybe Jarah and the Dead Sea.The rest is desert.Ecuador will give you something that I myself want:to step on the Ecuatorial line! Can you imagine? It is like a record the same feeling when I stepped on the Northe Circle(SANTA clause) in Finland. And of corse-Galapagos Islands--nothing compares to this experience.

i think it depends on where you've been before. if you've already traveled to places with jungle & wildlife, then go to jordan. if u've already been places with desert and great acrhitecture, then do ecuador. that being said, it also depends on your budget. jordan is ALOT cheaper than visiting the galapagos islands. i'm going to egypt in march, and am desparately trying to convince my hubby that we need to visit jordan as well on that trip! i'd do anything to see Petra!

I don't think you can compare them... I haven't been to Jordan, but I have been to Ecuador for a month in 2006 and it was a great experience. We could combine really different things - but I think on the historical side, Jordan will impress you more.

I think you'd go to each place for entirely different reasons. If you want nature and wildlife I'd go with Ecuador (I haven't been yet, but I will someday soon!), but if you want history I'd pick Jordan. :)

Ecuador for sure! there's a lot to do, lots of places to visit; plus people are great and everything is cheap. Trust me you'll have the time of your life. No matter what interest you have you'll always find something to have fun!

I probably don't know enough about Ecuador, but my instinctive response would be Jordan! Personally I have a strong interest in the Middle East, I like desert, and I love Islamic architecture. My travels have taken me through a lot of muslim countries and I have a real fondness for those parts of the world. The hospitality is second to none and you can't beat chatting with the locals in the evening over tea and shisha!

Ecuador! Go to the Galapagos Islands, stay on a small boat for the full 8 to ten days, to see and learn and experience this most amazing place. Learn to snorkel, first... Yes, most amazing natural place on earth.

Ecuador! I am biased since I haven't been to Jordan...but after Wadi Rum, Petra, Dead Sea what makes it exciting? Ecuador has a diverse landscape ranging form volcanoes to rainforest, plus the amazing Galapagos Islands are part of Ecaudor - that in itself is enough for a "win" in my eyes.
