Wieliczka, a beautiful salt mine, is also not too far away. half an hour maybe by train, and there are a lot of bus tours going there, too. it's full of tourists of course, but still an impressive place to see.

Jewish quarter and it's synagogues, cafeterias and restaurants. Main Market Square is obligatory to see and just walk around enjoying the view :) if you're interested in architecture you should see some of churches on and around the Market Square. to get to know the city better (if you have time) go to Nowa Huta and 'admire' the post-communist buildings - but do it in the day! in the night it might get a little scary.

Wawel Castle, Kazimierz (Old Jewish District), Auschwitz (Old Nazi Death Camp, sad place, but a must), Old Town with its main market square and a good restaurant (I can reccomend Szara - expensive, about 25 euros for a person for a meal, but very good) or pub (Polish beer and vodka are delicious).

Hello mate.... I stayed in the middle of Krakow, near the big square. There is an indoor market full of foods, clothing and gifts. I would have a look there as it is a really nice way to use a few hours up.

Podgorze - an austrian district with loads of stairs and a beautiful old park in it's heart. Good to spend sunny afternoon there!

The Jewish quarter and its synagogues and restaurants. Worth spending some time walk around there. Also there's a famous bar there serving honey vodka. It's excellent.

You can visit Mr. Schindler's factory, and of course the Wawel Castle. If you're looking for a day trip or 2, Auschwitz (Oswiecim) Concentration camp is about an hour away by train, and Zakapone is a gorgeous little mountain resort town in the Tatras mountains, a couple of hours away by bus.

You should definitely see the salt mine of Wieliczka - it's a short trip by a bus or a train from Krakow. It takes a few hours to see it but it's really worth it!

Krakow is swarmed by annoying tourists and in reality there are no detail things you have to see. The whole city is amazing - Wawel, Sukiennice, Kazimierz (the Jewish quarters). But the most amazing thing are the people. Just go to Rynek at night and you'll meet them

Personally I would recommend you to stay a bit out of track and go to Zakrzówek&Skałki Twardowskiego. It's a beautiful place situated about 8 minutes by bus or tram away from the city centre. Skałki Twardowskiego are rocks from wich you can see all the city (beautiful view)! Zakrzówek is an artificial lake with lovely blue water. Worth seeing, really!

You must see the Jewish quarter Kazimierz, Main Market and Wawel Castle etc. But if you really wanna feel this town, you totally have to visit one of the underground pubs! They're amazing! I can also recommend walking from Kazimierz to Wawel along the river at night!

The underground cave nightclubs!! Without knowing about them, it would be almost impossible to find. Some are in malls, others just a small sign and an open door invite you in. A popular 2 story club underground is called Prozac. There's so many cafes, restaurants you discover by going into open doors in random streets. It's cosy and beautiful. Hope to visit again, and discover more.

Be sure to check out the salt mines and the cathedral. Shopping in the city square is the best in Poland for all handicrafts and souvenirs.

Definitely visit the Cloth Market in the central square. Also try and visit Kazimierz (Jewish quarter), if you want to eat there Ariel restaurant is good - the food is wonderful traditional jewish food. The castle (Wawel) is nice as well as many of the city's churches. However the best way to experience Krakow is to just wander around exploring all the streets, and eating in some of the more out of the way places - once you've see all the main attractions you want to see of course.
