I know it is not exactly Scandinavia, but there with north of Europe...Summertime Helsinki! Suomenlinna (island 15min ferry ride from the centre), tram number 3T or 3B (does a double circle - like no. 8 - of Helsinki and sees a lot of the sights with only couple euros, and you can get the info leaflet for that tram from any of the Info points of the city). Stockholm - old town (gamla stan) worth seeing. Copenhagen - the mentioned canal cruise, definitely worth it(!), and also Tivoli and then Nyhavn with it's lovely restaurants and bars!

Coast and fjords of Norway is a must. Cities to recommend in Norway: Bergen, Tromsø. Beautifully situated cities. Otherwise for beautiful or cities, I would rather go for cities in other Scandinavian countries. For scenery: Norway. There are beautiful landscapes and coastal regions in all of Scandinavia, but the drama of the Norwegian combination of sea, islands, fjords, mountains and setlement/villages, you will not find anywhere else. Depends on how much time you have. If little time, stay in the south (train to Bergen with detour Flom, coastal steamer (Hurtigruten)to Måløy/Ålesund, coach back / rent a car in Bergen, drive through fjords mountains valleys to Stad/Ålesund and return along a different road back). If more time: Head north (Trondheim, Nordland, Lofoten, Vesterålen, Tromsø, Nordkapp). If going through Nordland, the coastal road is much more beautiful than the inland road.

In Norway takeing the train from Oslo to Bergen is really recomanded, and there's many places in Bergen worth seeing, old cultural stuff, fishing harbour and the mountains are beautiful. Also from Bergen you can sign on for a bus "explor" trip, which lets you see some great sights here in Norway.

In Norway, my best choices are Lofoten island, if you can use a car, every curve is a surprise!! Then favourite places are Alesund and its Jugendstil houses and a really nice fjord, Bergen and of course a couple of days in Oslo.

go up to lofoten islands. you can visit them by public transport. if you go on the western side of the islands you can see the midnight sun over the sea, which is a fantastic experience! other nice regions are the fjord lands in southern norway and lapland (northern sweden or finland).

I'm actually living in Copenhagen and i think is a really beutiful place to visit!! In Denmark you should visit as well Skagen, the place where the North Sea and the Baltic Sea come together, and you can see an amazing effect, a perpendicular wave respect to the shore, because of the different salinity of each sea and other features. Also it's really beautiful Stockholm and Lappland (north Finland--> spectacular).
I have never been in Norway, unfortunately, but all the people say that Bergen, the fiords and also Oslo are really nice, so if you have the chance go there and tell us!
good luck! :)

My favorite place is Stockholm and the surrounding area. If you can just take a car and drive the countryside is very nice and relaxing. It is nice to go also to Visby.
If you are going to Norway then I would say that you have to see Bergen and you can go to the Lofoten islands. All the Fjords in Norways are beautiful so you have a lot to choose from.

Walking around Gamla Stan in Stockholm is great, a boat ride to the Archipelago there is great too. I agree that Nyhavn is a great spot to chill out in Copenhagen. My favourite place in Norway was Bergen, so taking the train / ferry across from Oslo to Bergen is a must as well. have fun!
