Guaranteed you go back or stay longer, ive been to Bangkok twice now and it's crazy. Never been to the Royal Palace but i was told ive missed out so im going next year. Koh Samet was amazing but it will be too far for u to go in your short stay. My girlfriend is traveling now and Loves Ko Samui, and Phan Yang. Be careful in Bangkok for dodgy taxis ask prices b4 u ride and have fun.

Phuket is great for diving you have easy access to some of the best dive sites. You can also visit the nearby islands which are quieter and nicer than Phuket including James bond Island (small but very recognisable from the film and great views on the way there and back) and Pi pi island.

Don't go to Phuket, go to the north of Thailand or go to some other islands. Royal Palace is beautiful in Bangkok as well as Floating Market, Bridge over the river Kwai, Ayutthaya & Sukkothai.

A beautiful country and very affordable travel, food, lodging. If you can get to Chang Mai it is worth it, very different than Bangkok or southern Thailand

Grand Palace,Floating Market, Safari World in Bangkok. If you go to Pattaya attend the Alcazar Show. In Phuket, you'll do some activities as snorkeling, canoeing, parasailing and don't miss the Fantasea Show it's fabulous.

Bangkok... SHOPPING!!! Ko San road has cheap shopping, lots of bargaining and some great pubs where you can get a pad thai and a beer. MBK is 7 floors of shopping, you can find just about anything here. For temples, catch a river boat- theres a hop on hop off service for 300 TB- and see the royal palace and the reclining bhudda. My fave restraunt is the Blue Elephant, costs about $15 for a 3 course meal but the food and service were amazing. You can find details on this site or by using google for any of these places. Have a great trip!

In Bangkok there is a forensic museum in one of the university hospitals. It has some fairly gross and interesting stuff. Legs encased in plastic, cross sections of testes with elephantatis, the bodies of convicted murderers. It's a bit different to the rest of what's available.

Bangkok is a wonderful city whit a lot of cultural possibilities. Phuket is an island with tourist possibilities. Try to live like the Thai people, meaning, very cheap. You can eat a good meal on every corner of every street. You have luxury resorts as well as backpackers pensions over all the country. Good luck, i know for sure that this will not be the last visit of Thailand (the land of smile)

Make sure you make the trip from Bangkok to Ayutthaya, the old capital. You can get there by bus, but better still, hire a car and driver which shouldn't cost you more than about $30. When in Bangkok, take the river taxis and soak up the atmosphere.

Maybe: Bangkok for 2 days (1 night Baiyoke, 1 night Khao San Road - Dang Derm Hotel) then take the train to Ayutthaya in the morning and in the afternoon to Chiang Mai. It's possible to book tours there. Then take a flight or night train to Bangkok and the local bus to Pattaya (or Hua Hin) to relax. Koh Larn, 30 minutes away from coast is beautiful for swimming with white sandy beaches.

As someone said - dont go to Phuket. You'd better choose Kho Samui or any other Island. In Samui you can go to Best Western Hotel view an amazing view for chaweng beach and see. Bangkok is very gor for many trips like: Tiger Temple, Floating Market, River Kwai etc... If you're looking for good tour operators in Asia - pls go to "Destination Asia" - the have a nice trips with good leaders - you can try the private trips in a very good price.

Only 10 days? Try 3 months. Shopping is good in Bangkok, do the floating market & temples. Phuket is only good if you like prostitutes swarming you constantly. Try Ko Samui or Ko Tao.
