    I'm landing in Addis Ababa in Sept...where to first? I'm keen for trekking and won't be booking anything until I get there.

    to the north from addis is more easy than the south + cheaper: to Bahir dar (lake tana & blue nile falls) to Lilibella - Mekele - wukro - danakil (if possible because SO worh it), ...

    Try to go to Lalibela its a town in northern Ethiopia, known for its monolithic churches which are really amazing to check out ! Or try to get to the Omo valley, the tribes that live in the lower Omo Valley are really fascinating to visit and meet !
