Bahamas is a lovely destination.and around christmas new yesr a great time to visit.The weather is just bliss ...warm not too hot .I suggest the best way to have a good look at the Bahamas is to take a cruise.Take off from Miame /florida and a 3-4 nite trip will allow you to enjoy the bahamas with out the hassel of booking hotels and having to bother about food . They take you around the main Islands ,incl Paradise Island on which you have the Atlantis resort and Nassau the capital.Also a lot more enjoyable than checking into a hotel /resort which you can do any where.Royal caribean, carnival ..all major line s operate and a ocean facing room should cost around $ 200 for a three nite cruise.They have plenty of activities on board which will keep you engaged.

Absolutely Atlantis. My husband and I have been all over the carribean and the atlantis is hands down the most amazing/gorgeous resort we've seen - words cannot do it justice!

Paradise Island is a good stop and if you have kids the Atlantis is FULL of family things to do.

Agree with regards to Atlantis - if you like Sushi, go to the NOBU in the Atlantis... try to get a seat at the bar in front of the Sushi makers...

I think Atlantis is the coolest resort in the Bahamas!

Buy $100 tickets as soon as you get to Atlantis. If you may stay for several days consider most of the time at this resort and leave less than a day to see Downtown. Do not rent the motorcicles, it gets boring quickly! In Atlantis you won't get bored at all. There is a beautiful aquarium and they make free tours (worht the walk), the waterpark is amazing, there are calmed beaches, casinos, museums, restaurants and many activities to enjoy there. Atlantis is undoubtedly the best of Bahamas. Have an awsome trip! :D

I'm in love with the Bahamas and would definitely go back if I could!! We went to Paradise Island and took a boat out to the Exuma Islands to feed sharks and stingrays and swim with them - best experience of my life.

My suggestion is to figure out what you are looking for out of your vacation. If you want to lay around and not do much, the Bahamas is fine. If you want to get a taste of a different culture and do activities on your vacation, there are much better destinations in the Caribbean.
