I can't speak for Peru, but Namibia was fantastic in january, and I imagine the weather is pretty much the same in February. Had a few days where it would rain for an hour or so, but nothing ridiculous. It does mean that seeing animals is a little less likely at this time of year, but I still managed to see the Big 5 in Jan/Feb.

Actually the rainy season in Namibia goes from end December to end of March. The weather is fine between showers, some times heavy, and thunder storms, but if you're planning on doing a safari, you may get cut-off roads and the game sightings will be more difficult as there will be plenty of water away from waterholes. The best time to visit Namibia will be between May and October in my opinion.

I was in Namibia in january and the weather was fine in all the country, I think it would be fine in february too. I visited all PerĂ¹ south of Lima in april 2003 without a single rain, I don't know how is it in february.

I haven't been to Namibia, but it will be summer time in Peru then. Depending on what part of the country you go to it could be great! There is a mountain range a friend was telling me about that looked beautiful for hiking. However, in some of the more touristy regions/Amazonian areas/and lowlands it is rainy season so you might not get to visit those areas. I went during June (their winter) and the weather was perfect, it was sunny for most of the trip, and there was a lot going on. Good luck deciding, and have a fun trip either way!

both destinations are actually all-year-around destinations, but I think Namibia will be the best in February. In peru there is a rain season from december till march in the eastern part of the Andes and the Amazon region. In Namibia the wether is perfect in February!

Hi Cathy,
I was in Peru in late February this year and the weather was absolutely fabulous. Also, we caught at least 2-3 festivals. It was grand. Sorry, I can't give you any first-hand advice on Namibia (It is on my wish list).
Good Journeys!
