Wellington is a great city. The Te Papa museum is really awesome, the art scene is cool, and cuba street is packed with great restaurants and coffee places so I would definitely say it is worth going to. - Jade Johnston | Travel Blogger | Writer | www.ouroyster.com |

Wellington is worth the stop even if only for TePapa the national museum, it is amazing. I also really enjoyed the Karori Wildlife sanctuary, it's amazing walking around in a predator free sanctuary.

If the weather is good, Wellington is the most beautiful capital in the world. However, if the weather is bad, it is horrible. You will understand what Windy Wellington is. To tell the truth, it is much much nicer than Auckland. I lived in Wellington for 3 years and I love it. Go to Te Papa, Mt Victoria, Botanic garden, Cuba Street, Port, Thorndon Village and Parliament. You will enjoy them!

I love the hilly terrain and the cable cars. The Beehive building is there and the Te Papa museum is not to be missed.

I think wellington is easily the most beautiful city in New Zealand. Some would beg to differ - there are great beaches, wonderful day trips you can do. Wellington is known for it's great music, great coffee houses... it really is a fantastic place to go. Contact me on my profile if you want to talk about it more. I prefer Wellington to Christchurch or Auckland anyday

I grew up in Wellington and I would say it depends on how much time you have. I love the city but the weather can be hossible. If you have to stop there anyway make the most of it. Everyone else is right go to Te papa. It is not your usually stuffy mueseum, its a great fun way to learn about NZ culture and history. The resturants are amazing, try Instana Malaysia for good malaysian food (Blair or Allen st, they are next to each other off Courtenay Pl)Pasha for Turkish, Ghuznee St (I think, its close to Cuba St), or Flying Buritto Bros, Vivienne St and Cuba. The Botanical gardens are gorgeous and there are great views of the city from the top of the cable car (entrance is off Lamton quay up an alley way past McD's). Also if you are into fashion there are some great desingers carly harris on Cuba st, Starfish on Willis St and Fin also Cuba st are just a few musts.

Te Papa is an excellent museum, some good cafes and plenty of music. Be prepared for a windy experience.

Yes! I really liked Wellington and we visited the city several times. Great museum (Te Papa), probably the best in NZ. Great food, nightlife, etc. And it is a jumping off point for the ferry to the South Island.

Wanna see sheep? I think you should go. My Dad studied there and enjoyed himself. Cost of living is VERY EXPENSIVE. And air is quite fresh.
