Try to see Herculaneum as it is smaller than Pompeii, but more intact. I found that it was easier to invision what it was like to have lived there.

pompeii is a must see! just being in the ruins and walking the same street that a civilization did many many years ago just takes my breath away! truly and amazing site!

Pompeii ruins, vesuvio, and sorrento is a lovely little town overlooking the sea from where u can take a ferry to Capri shich used to be tiberius's island retreat. also good to croos the boot into the east side to Bari or Brindisi if you want to take a ferrry to greece :) Naples itself is good for flirting, hehehe
