For a different take on "fast" food, try Cien Montaditos. Platefuls of minuscule sandwiches made of typical Spainish fare - and quite inexpensive.

You can allways go to get some "tapas" in La Latina (thats the name of a neighbourhood close to Plaza Mayor) or close to Santa Ana Square. Specially in summer it is full of places to eat outside. There they offer some typical food (jamón serrano, morcilla, pimientos de padrón, patatas bravas, boquerones en vinagre, etc.).
