I recommend Tenerife - especialy the north of the island - there are less tourists than on the south but also the weather is a little bit colder and its more rainy. you should definitely go on the trip on Teide volcano - its just amazing! and from tenerife You can go on La Gomera - so natural and green island like no other from the canary region. i was there twice and every time this island looks different for me. for entertaining i can recommend the Siam Park (great aqua park) and Loro Park (with f.e dolphins, seals, parrots shows) enjoy your stay!

Tenerife is definitely great, but if you want to be isolated of the world and get lost in the mountains, go to La Palma! It's amazing. I recommend you Los Tilos in Los Sauces, which is a beautiful Laurisilva. You can also visit La Caldera de Taburiente National Park, it's very impressive. And Cumbre Nueva is filled with large volcanos, which is the place where a part of "Prehistoric Park" documentaries where made. I'll give you a very good tip: In El Paso (in the center of the island), you will be able to see a magnificent föhn wind if you're lucky. At the island's highest peak, Roque de los Muchachos, you will be able to get an incredible view. There are also many observatories, one of them is the world's largest single-aperture optical telescope. You'll not regret it!

Tenerife is great, it hasn't the flavour of the lost island such as Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, but it offers a variety of things to see and do.. a shorlist: trekking to Teide (or just go the by cable-car), swimming in Punta Teno, find the hidden natural lava-pools of Garachico and San Juan de la Rambla, see the big big tree in Icod de los Vinos, go to the Gigantes (giant rocks in southwestern coast), have a boat tour to see whales and dolphins from Puerto Santiago, sunbath in black sands beach of Puerto de la Cruz, party in the university town of San Cristobal de la Laguna, have a drive in the northern coast and stop in Bajamar and dive in the public seawater pools, and if you like classic summer nightlife, just go south to PLaya de las Americas

My advice is to rent a car (cost around 100 euro on Tenerife), and with gas for 30 euro u will see whole island (Tenerife of course:)) Better than any organised trip.
And be careful with the sun: it's really strong - whole year! Drink only bottled water and buy only alcohols and food for souvenirs. All other stuf are from China:P Have a nice trip y'all

if going to gran canaria, you have to go to maspalomas or playa del ingles as there are the most amazing dunes!
although the buildings aren't so great, the beach is deffinately worth it.

if you really want to spend time in the canaries, dont bother with tenerife, go to lanzarote or fuerteventura...the rest are all honky towns full of young boisterous north europeans who do nothing but get drunk...
