Wanna go to Bali this august to surf. Any tips on affordable beach cabins or something, so I can jump out of my bed in the morning and right into the sea?

go to a travel agcy in kuta , book a boat to sumbawa (50usd round trip), when you get sumbawa , head to huu (leakey peak area). you will find cotage called mona lisa (10usd night). you will be just in front of one of the best spots for surfing in indonesia.

for sure go to kuta beach! It is the most popular one, so lots of tourist, but it's also the one with the most options, and nice waves! i went to different kinds of places, but no cabins on the beach. I think you don't really need a beach cabin, if you stay somewhere around jalan poppies lane one or two you would be fine. It's like a 5 or 10 minutes walk. Renting a scooter i also recommend, you have scooters with a special hanger for you're board which works fine and costs about 3€ a day depending on how long you want to rent it. The places we went where about 15€ (200rpd) a day for a 2 person bedroom incl ac. Renting a board on the beach costs like 4€ (60rpd) but you will have to bargain a lot! Good luck!

Other questions
Will be travelling with my partner to Bali in July 2011. Will reach on the 13th (1230pm) and departing on the 16th (9:20pm). I drafted out an itinerary that goes like this; 13/7 - since i am arriving mid day, i only have half a day. decide to have it free n easy and snoop around Kuta town. 14/7 - interested to visit the volcano mountain and even the Tanah Lot temple for the sunset as well as the Ulu nandu temple. i am not sure if i will be able to cover all those in a day. 15/7 - plannnig to head over to Ubud and spend the night there. 16/7 - since my flight is at 9:20pm, i beleive i can still have a half day tour. any suggestions? It is our first time there, hope to cover as much of the interesting spot. Of course i will be back but let's leave that till then :) All recommendations and advice welcome. Thanks, Andy (Malaysia)
