Brasil is big: The northeast is beach region at its best: head to Natal. Rio is very nice and has a lot to do around. Florianopolis in the south is another beach place. Further in land, Foz de Iguaçu is very impressive. Off-the-track? Chapada diamantina in the inland bahia state has good trekking, impressive landscape but it rains a lot in some seasons

Spending a few days in Rio de Janeiro, going up to Pao de Azucar and Cristo de Corcovado. Then either head down to Iguacu falls and finally Florianopolis, or otherwise, head north and experience the beautiful beaches. Go all the way up to Fortaleza if possible.

I would recommend visiting a favala in Rio and then going to Salvador to meet the people, eat the food, and check out the beaches. They have ATM machines at the airport so you'll get better rates than with exchanging cash.

If you want to go to Amazon Region, try to go to Belém, Manaus, even São Luis. Nice cities and still have all the beautiful architecture from the past. Some people say Belem is like the "Brazilian Paris".

Brazil is bigger than the Continental US. If someone says "I'm going to the USA, any recommendations?" Well first you have to narrow it down. You want to go shopping? Go to Sâo Paulo, want the great night life? Rio. Want to go to the "jungle?" (They call it the interior) start from Manaus. Like the ocean? Fortaleza. Well, there's lots to do and you won't do it in one trip unless you move to Brazil!

Depends on what you're looking for. If you like beaches, choose somewhere in the Northest, it has lots of beautiful beaches all over the coast. If want and can spend more money, try Fernando de Noronha. You can find some good beaches in the South too, but the water is much colder. If you like to be in touch with the natural wonders, you have lots of place to choose, as Amazon, Pantanal, Chapada Diamantina, Foz do Iguaçu, etc etc. But if you like big cities, def choose Sao Paulo, it's like New York, this city doesn't stop, doesn't sleep, you'll have places to go all day and night.
