the best place i ever visit so far, you have to go there !!
take the boat ride to the king`s palace is not to cheap but is worthed.. My advice to you is while in stickholm try to walk as much as posible, is good for your health, you get a deeper knowledge of the city, and you will safe loads of money, local trasportation in there is pretty expensive.. Besides you get to be in more contact with the locals and i must say the must beatifull girls i ever seen in my life are from sweedem (keep that in mind!!!) jaja

Stockholm is fantastic. If you want to see and do a few things buy a Stockholm card. They are not cheap but save money if you want to see a few things.
Also make sure you go up the town hall tower, we lined up for an hour, the view was worth it.

Check out the Vasa museum in Stockholm. It's awesome! I've heard the Ice Bar is pretty cool too.

Disagree completely with comments below re language. The standard of English in Sweden is very high. Most people speak English to a good standard - and you should have no problems what so ever esp in those areas which deal with tourism.

Victor, Sweden is great fun, if not a bit expensive...but hey it's Europe. Walk around Gamla Stan (the old town) in Stockholm, maybe consider heading to Skansen and yes heading to the archipelago to somewhere like Uto is a fun boat ride and nice scenery.
One thing I enjoyed, for a bit of history, was heading to Lake Malaren and the archeaological site called Birka...Viking ruins!
If you like beer seek at Akkurat for some good Swedish beers other than Spendrups. Have fun!

Also check out Drottningholm.. Sweden's version of Versailles palace and gardens west of the city. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site. It's easy to visit there on the T-bane and bus.

I agree with Courtney, head out to some of the islands in the Archipeligo - its beautiful! I didn't have any trouble with language though - they all seemed to speak better english than most british citizens...

Stockholm is the most beautiful place i have ever been too! the people are great but communication can be a tad difficult as not many speak English that fluently! But the scenery is fab, the culture is great, night life is ok and the food is really good... tad expensive though, but well worth going!! Try and go and visit the surrounding islands for something different, they are truly beautiful, especially sodra grinda!
