Vegas has the cheapest hotels in the USA. But go to www.cheapticket.com, you'll find the best deals, renting a car or hotels.

It appears incredible that Las Vegas is not an expensive city to stay, and what you need to plan in advance to get the promotions, try to stay on the strip.

The Luxor is the best hotel for your money in my opinion. It is on the south end of the strip but within walking distance to the big resorts (MGM, Planet Hollywood, NY NY, etc.) Its really nice and has lots of places to eat and drink. The casino is large and has fairly loose slots. The crowd is also well mixed enough so that no matter what age you are, you won't feel out of place.

The Flamingo is usually cheap and has a great location on the strip. The rooms were really nice, I would stay there again.

The Tropicana often has decent deals and is right in the middle of all the action. The hotel itself, however, doesn't have much that is unique or interesting.
I've heard that the Luxor can be affordable depending on the season, too, and is one of my favorite hotels. Plenty of things there to keep you entertained, and good food!

Located on the strip in the "newer" area, the cheapest are usually the Luxor and the Flamingo. Places like the stratosphere on the north end of the strip usually offer good rates also. It really depends on what area your looking to stay. Hotel rates are considerably more expensive on thursday-sunday nights.

Usually Stratosphere has very good last minute offers - that's what I used last time. Check it out online. Though it is a bit off the main part of strip, you could park in the hotels (like Bellagio or Ceasars Palace) for free and get to the places you want to see.

We went to Stratosphere Tower. We took a last minute offer on internet. It was not so expansive at all.

If you don't mind staying downtown, Main Street Station is rather nice and is inexpensive. The Westin Casaurina is better if you want closer to the strip

if you are looking for truly budget i would always recommend the motel 8 just off the strip. clean and also with a pool and most attractions are within walking distance..

depends on when you'd like to go there. The week-ends are more expensive in the big hotels, e.g. Excalibur/Mirage/Bellagio. If you go to these hotels on mon-fri you'd may have luck and they make you an offer (sometimes even cheaper than other "motels"). We've been to the "America's Best Value Inn", it's directly to the Strip (Tropicana Ave), next to the MGM and not expensive.
