Wow good question! First of all : ROME! The must with his history! It's a really charming city with a lot of things to see (piazza di spagna, piazza navona, villa borghese, fontana di trevi,...) ans of course Venise! But now it's a little bit to hot and it can sink near the water!

Florence and Venice...we also have family in Vasto, which is a more popular tourist town for Italians. It is smaller, so not everyone speaks English, but beautiful. It is right on the coast, so you have beaches, or you can walk up to the old town. Very relaxing!

Cinque Terra & the Amalfi Coast. Out of this world. Sorrento - lazy & charming. And venice - very romantic & lots of character.

definitly venice. cinque terre, milan (really beautiful though still northern), rome of course, naples, if you get over to sicily taormina (small fisher town, really cute), siracusa, catania/etna, palermo, erice and sardegna is also incredibly beautiful but for the beaches more than the cities...

cinque terre and the national park of protofino is the best when you like to walk, umbrie is the best for biking. Rome is a great city for citytrippers.

Rome - great culture and history, watch out for pickpockets. Venice - smells like a sewage, but is very beautiful. Beware of pickpockets. Florence - just like venice it's a very beautiful place to go to, things are overpriced.

Florence is the most amazing city. There is so much to see and do...museums, duomo, piazzas, easy to walk everywhere if you stay near the Ponte Vecchio. Siena was beautiful, also. You could spend a week just trying to see all of Rome. A real jewel? Sicily.

I'm from Rome and it is a very beautiful city! But also Venice, Florence, Naples and Turin. But also very nice small places like Capri Island, Costiera Amalfitana, San Giminiano (in Toscana), Alberobello, Milano, Bologna, Costa Smeralda (in Sardegna), Sicily, etc...) Depends on how much time you have to spend in italy! If you have any further and detailed question do not hesitate to ask me!

Trieste.....it's beautiful. Go somewhere other than where all the tourists are heading. Italy has alot of other surprises for you. And yes, Ancona is beautifuly too. If you go there, rent a car and explore the countryside and the coast.

I liked both Venice and Rome when I went there. Venice is certainly unique with its canals and atmosphere, while Rome has some of the greatest monuments in history.
