Organise a helicopter trip and see the Grand Canyon. It was the best thing I ever did and it will save you time going by helicopter instead of 4x4, I flew there and landed in the Grand Canyon then flew back to Vegas at night, and saw all the lights in the strip being lit up - amazing!

The 3 things people should do are to see a show (can never go wrong with Cirque du Soleil), eat at a buffet (everyone loves the Rio's), and go to a club

You should see every free show of the hotels! Very nice experiences and they'ra played many times. Like the Bellagio fountains play every half hour between 3 pm and 7 pm. Between 7 pm and 12 pm they're even played every quarter of an hour. Treasure Island has a nice play, it plays every 90 min starting at 7 pm. The Mirage has a vulcano that erupts every hour starting at 7 pm. Every hotel is unique, so go inside to see them!

Check the Bellagio Fountain, there is a show every hour, while after 20:00 there is one every half hour. You should see it during the night, it's impressive.

I went to Circus Circus hotel, they have a nice circus show in their casino. Also if you have never shot a gun before go to las vegas gunstore for a shoot. Really awesome, though a bit expensive! All the hotel/casino's on the strip are great.

Do it all, BUT definately go see a Cirque du Soleil show. I highly recommend KA and Mystere. (I haven;t seen The Beatles or "O" shows yet, but I bet they are great too) Worth every penny and it definately is the icing on the cake for a Vegas trip.

I would suggest a long walk along the Strip checking out the great hotels. NY NY: the rollercoaster & the view from outside (best from the MGM side). MGM Grand: The lions. Luxor: The sphinx and pyramid are a nice view & picture. The Venetian: The view and inside the halls and the inside water with boats and shops. Ceasars Palace: The Hall and exterior is impressive. The Mirage: They have baby tigers right now at their mini zoo ! They also have a vulcano show outside in the evening. Bellagio: Excellent water fountain show (best in the evening, stay for at least 2 shows, they change). Treasure Island: The pirate boat show in the evening. Finally go downton to Fremont Street Experience: Old school casino's and a massive light celing with hourly show on it.

2 weeks in Vegas. after the usual whatever go to Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire is 45 minutes north. Death Valley in California is just three hours northwest. Zion Park in Utah is only 3 hours away. the Grand Canyon in AZ is 5 hours away. check out getting cheap car rental through AMA, aeroplan etc. however if in the middle of summer when temperatures get super hot you need to know about desert survival and have the necessary water and other supplies in the vehicle. the climate then is harsh and unforgiving so be prepared.

From the Stratosphere Tower you get an amazing view of Las Vegas (especially at night). It also has 3 rollercoasters on top of it. Don't go too late though, it closes at 1 and they will just kick you out. A must see are all the special hotels on the Strip, they have Casinos, Rollercoasters, Shows, Clubs and look like famous places (Egypt, Rome, Venice, New York, Paris etc.). Some offer free shows, but if you want to watch one that costs something - there's a place that sells tickets for half the price (on the Strip, close to MGM Grand, inside the big Coca Cola Bottle).

Go to the Wynn Hotel to see the free 10 minute show from their terrace restaurant or Martini/Champagne Bar(movie screen with a waterfall backdrop on a man-made small lake) that runs about every half hour. The hotel is beautiful to see itself and the show was pretty cool. Also Elton John at Caesars was fantastic! Jimmy Buffets Bar (The Flamingo) at the 4 corners is fun but busy.

Going to the top of the Stratosphere around sunset - seeing the city and area during the day and then at night is amazing. Plus brunch at the Wynn on the patio overlooking the pool is a luxurious experience.
