Absolutely don't miss . . . the Waterford Crystal Factory in Waterford, kissing the Blarney Stone in Cork, driving the Ring of Kerry, and pub-crawling in Dublin.

Don't just go to Dublin if you are going to be in Ireland for a while. There are loads of cool places other than Dublin to see whilst in Ireland. Head West to Galway and travel around the West coast and make your way down South to Kerry. You'll see some nice places and meet some interesting people too.

In Dublin: Trinity College with the book of Kells and the Library, the prison, the Zoo, Grafton St, the Irish writers museum, the Guiness and the Jameson factories. Out of Dublin: Kilkenny and its castle, Cork & the Blarney castle and stone, The Ring of Kerry: drive all the way to Dingle, the Cliffs of Mohair, the Arran Islands, Galway. Northern Ireland is worth it too, go to Belfast and then up North to the Giants Causeway. :-)

If you get to the North, go to Donegal Town and Slieve Liegh. These are the highest cliffs to face the Atlantic in all of Europe. They are amazing.

I'd say you definitely ought to spend some time in Cork and Kerry area. There is beautiful scenery, West Cork, Kerry and along the coast in particular. There are rural and urban areas, Cork is second largest city of Ireland. Plenty of historic sites, beaches, walks, mountains. Everything really

The best way to enjoy Ireland is take a car and let you go, stopping whenever you want. But, if I had to tell you places you must see, there they go: Dublin: Library and Book of Kells, Westport: Matt Molloy's, Blasket Islands, Connemara, Kylemore Abbey, Cliffs of Moher and Aran Islands

Doolin is amazing, real friendly people and a great view!
Cork is also a lovely city. Been there for a week, also amazing people.
All of Ireland is friendly, welcoming and warm. Go to a bar and have a chat with an Irish man and he will tell you everything with the greatest love for his country.

If you're in Galway, take a trip to the Aaran Islands. It is fairly inexpensive to take the bus to the ferry... a round trip is like $26 euro. There are 3 Islands and the biggest one is the most popular of course. There are a few great things to see there. Good for a day trip, or there are hostels on the island and you can catch the ferry back the next day.

In Northern Ireland along the east coast (just north of Larne) there is the Giants Causeway. It is an area on the coastline that is covered in these perfectly shaped and stacked rocks (like hexagons?) so unusual but beautiful and fun to explore, lots of walk ways. Near that too is the Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge.

Should go to Hills of Tara but only in summer due to climate change (it's covered in snow in present winters) Newgrange is a must-see also.

There is much to do all over ireland. In the north there is the giants causeway and a interesting history of the battle between the Uk versus Irish identity.
Dublin has plenty to offer with trinity college, the guiness factory and the jail is very interesting. Apparently many movies have been filmed there but the history is very interesting. If you make it to cork there is also a jail there and then Blarney just outside of town.
Oh and don't forget the cliffs of Moher, dingle penisula and the ring of Kerry for fantastic views.

There's so much to see. Ireland is full of so much, you really can't go wrong no matter which direction you go. My personal favorite is County Donegal, a beautiful region in the more remote northwest part of the island.

Killarney is a great place but (too much ?) touristic. On the road stop by ladies' view ;)
Dingle Peninsula is great and the Cliffs of Moher too but it's need to be a lovely day do go here or it doesn't worth it.

Love, love, LOVE Dublin and all it has to offer. 10 things stand out for me; 6 are things to do & 4 are places to eat.
Things to do:
*Literary Pub Crawl
*Visiting Jonathan Swift's grave in St. Patrick's Cathedral
*Shopping on Grafton Street
*Strolling through St. Stephens Green
*Hunting down literary sites (those associated with Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, Jonathan Swift, Bram Stoker)
*Crossing the various bridges over the Liffey at sunset
Places to eat:
*Afternoon tea at The Shelbourne Hotel
*Wagamama's for 10 euro lunch including glass of wine or beer
*Fish & chips at Leo Burdock's near Christ Church
*Queen of Tarts (also near Christ Church)
I also fell in love with the walled medieval town of Kilkenny (great beer there, too, both Kilkenny Beer and Smithwick's), was charmed by a sunny afternoon in Cork, and enjoyed the hushed surrounds of the monastery in Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains.

From the Ring of Beara to Giant’s Causeway, my eyes witnessed natural richness that it had been deprived of for eighteen long years. Although my blissful memories of this Emerald Island were once filled with lush Kodak moments, six years have come and gone. Now, each town and countryside mountaintop is all the same to me – except, for one: Hillsborough.
If you're looking for a cozy village off the beaten path (just a few miles south of Belfast) with the same Irish wit, and the same Irish humor, make your way to Hillsborough in Northern Ireland... you'll be glad you did and you'll have a different story to tell than most (those who hit up the Guinness factory in Dublin).

I really enjoyed the National Museum of Ireland on Kildare street, Dublin because it has a stunning display of Celtic art. I also recommend the Book of Kells at Trinity College. Both displays gave me a sense of the heights to which Ireland could have ascended if not for British colonization, Cromwell, the Protestant acendency etc.

Really depends on what you are looking for: history is huge in Meath - New Grange is a passage grave from 2000 years before the Pyramids were built, the High Kings of ireland used to live on the Hill of Tara. Food is great anywhere, Irish pubs do good food, drink and 'sessions' wher musicians turn up and play traditional irish music. Sport is all over, GAA is our national athletic association and we paly Gaelic Football and Hurling - faster and more exciting than ice hockey....

Mayo and the northwest are beautiful, but you'll need to hire a car to really see the wild mountain landscapes. I'd recommend a day of two in Dublin because it's pretty nice. Galway is very chilled and has plenty of culture. Great atmosphere in summer, lots of people around and plenty of lively pubs :)

Have to do the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, of course. However if you get out into the coutryside, you can find some really cool castles and towns that give you a true picture of everyday Ireland. Try the town of Kenmare. You won't be disappointed. Cliffs of Mohr rock too...
