Sightseeing in Seoul: Gyeongbokgung Palace (you can walk around 2-3 hours, Han River boat tour, N-Seoul Tower by night is really nice and you have a nice view to the City.
Shopping: Dongdaemun-Market, Namdaemun-Market, Myeongdong(I would recommend this place for shoppiing you can really find everything) Insadong Art-Gallery and Hand made things, Apujeong,
About the communication it is relly difficult to communicate if you don`t speak Korean, as most of them don`t understand English or not that well. People are nice and friendly and try to help you, the City is very clean, good traditional foods!

What I loved most while in South Korea was actually just south of Seoul. Take a train down to Suwom city and check out Suwon Hwaseong (huge fort-- really pretty and picturesque). Best part you can do it as a day trip

Some disgruntled old man burnt down the city gate, so you can't see that anymore.
Seoul's temples aren't as impressive as those in other parts of the country.
The war museum is the best in the city.
Seoul tower is all right, but the pollution usually prevents you from seeing anything.
Seoul is kind of a drag if you ask me....
