Check out The Bean in Millenium Park on South Michigan Ave. It's really cool! The Art Institute of Chicago is just south of there. It has to be one of the best art museums in the country. Combining the two would make a good afternoon.

You should buy the chicago go card. The Go Chicago Card provides you access to over 30 of Chicago's top attractions and tours for a single low price on a single ticket. Go there and check: http://www.smartdestinations.com/chicago-attractions-and-tours/_d_Chi-p1.html?pass=Chi_Prod_Go&GCID=GOOGLE-chicago-CARDS-gbc

Take the architectural boat tour on the Chicago River. Beautiful trip and a great way to learn a lot about the city. You can take them from Navy Pier or at Michigan Ave and the river. I recommend Shoreline.

Here are a few things I can recommend: The Field Museum of Natural History, The Art Institute of Chicago, Buddy Guy's Legends blues club, the observation deck at the John Hancock building, if you want to go higher - the observation deck at the Sears Tower, Wrigleyville - not only for the Cubs but also great clubs & bars, Gino's East pizza, the Frank Lloyd Wright home & studio, Navy Pier, Water Tower (one of the few buildings to survive the Chicago Fire)...was that 10? I've lived in Chicago my whole life, if anyone has any questions feel free to send me a message.

I loved the field museum, the gangster tour and the zoo! Sears Tower is a must too. Think Ferris Bueller's day off.

Ride the Ravenswood L heading downtown from the north - it makes a loop and is a great way to see Chicago - awesome views - it goes over the Chicago River, makes a loop, goes by buildings so close you feel like you can almost touch them, you ride by offices of people working, it's a wonderful sightseeing opportunity and just the cost of a round trip L ticket =)

If you are in town arounf 4th of july you gotta see thze 4th of July firework. Best spot to view it is a Solidarity Drive near Shedd Aquarium. Be in the loop on time because the city gets crowded in the afternoon - about 1 Mio. people visit the fireworks...

If you like the alternative sceen I recomend going to boystown near the corner of belmont and clark. There are lots of cool stores where you can look around or pick up the leather pants you've always wanted. Also don't forget to go for a walk on the lakeshore the park is a pleasure that shouldn't be missed.

the navy pier! Go at night time, it's beautiful. There's a little boardwalk there, too. If you go with a little spending money, you can take a cruise, gorgeous as well. Cab drivers are expensive, but there is transportation by train to different cities, which is nice. Also, if you plan on buying liquor and you're in a cab, stop by the very first liquor place you see that isn't in a ghetto area. They're hard to come by there, and the last thing you want is to have your stupid! cab driver leave you stranded in a bad area.
