Definitely start at the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Then take a ferry (just because it's fun and a great way to sightsee) to Darling Harbour. Have lunch in Chinatown and then walk down to The Rocks. Do the Harbour Bridge Climb at twilight and have dinner in The Rocks at Sailors Thai. That's day one.

If you want to see some Australian animals, definitely catch the Wildlife World at the harbour. It's close to other of the great attractions - the bridge, the Opera House, and Haymarket (China Town), where you can visit Paddy's Market and get some fabulous Asian food for much cheaper than food at the harbour.

one thing I would recommend on top of what everyone else has said would be to visit Patty's Market. It's an extremely busy and large market where you can buy anything from souvenirs to your next meal

On day one you could see the opera house and the gray harbor bridge. Then you could walk in the botanical gardens. Then on day 2 you could take a bus to Watson's Bay then walk out to the South Head. Alternatively you could catch a ferry to Manly. I hope that you will have a fantastic trip.

Visit the Opera House, take a lunch cruise on Sydney Harbor & climb the bridge if you have time. Could be a short layover in Sydney, don't knock someone for only having 2 days. Pack the most in the short time that you have. I also recommend the Hilton in downtown Sydney.

I'm with Hollie on this one but I've got a question.
Why in the world would only spend 2 days anywhere? Thats just cheating yourself and not even worth the airplane ride.
