There's one important thing worth mentioning. When going out for a safari don't forget to bring with a satellite telephone. Because Namibia is a desolate place where you can drive for days without seeing someone. So, in case of having car trouble or any major problems there's your safety. Besides all that it's a great country where you can feel pure nature.

Like in most Southern African countries, if your using plastic cards to withdraw cash.....make sure you have a visa card as Mastercard, Maestro and Cirrus will most likely not work!!! Unless your lucky enough to have total strangers lend you money on the promise you will pay them back....you will find yourself stranded!! I was fortunate enough to have some great people on my safari. I do think its worth doing a safari though Southern Africa which will take you through Namibia. They are heaps of fun and the best way to meet and greet travelers who are like you. The safari's will take you to all the places worth seeing in Namibia which are Gariep River, Fish River Canyon (second largest in the world and amazing at sunset to see the sun go under the rim of the canyon), Namib Desert where you will see dune 45 and Sossusvlei, Sesriem Canyon, Swakopmund, Damaraland and its ancient rock art, Etosha National Park and lastly the capital of Namibia which is Windhoek. The Namib Desert and Etosha NP are the highlights. Make sure you bring enough memory on your camera as the scenery is amazing and you are bound to take heaps of pictures....and video's of the game at Etosha!!!

The dunes are awesome, as others have said. Fish River Canyon and Sessriem Gorge are pretty cool also. Cape Cross was nice, but kind of stinky! I liked Etosha, I saw a lot of animals there. Also... Swakopmund is a relatively cheap-ish place to go skydiving!

Love it! Love it! Love it! The star of the show in Namibia is the landscape. All those dunes, and rocky gorges. Very isolated in most parts, with towns few and far between. Not a place to get stranded, though. And no phone coverage to speak of.

If you liek beer, Namibia has the best beers in Africa (except maybe some locals in South Africa). It has a deep German history, hence the brewing prowess. Hansa is the 'best' out there, espeically the Bock. There is a fantastic sea lion colony up the skeleton coast, some 'tours' don't include a visit, as they can be off the standard route. But Cape Cross I hear godo things about. The benefit is that these colonies are easily accesible being on the mainland vs. the colonies off the coast in South Africa.

Fish River Canyon, Sessriem, Sossusvlei (dunes), Etosha, Swakopmond, Cape Cross, Windhoek, the Kalahari and Namib deserts, Walvis Bay...so many amazing things to see and do and that just is the start of it! You get to see a little of everything in namibia - stark deserts with massive dunes, open plains, beautiful beaches and the ocean...it really is incredible. It's one of the most amazing places and I'll definitely be back there again in the future!

Namibia and Malawi are the best countries in Africa. I would go back to Namibia in a heartbeat. Especially Etosha National Park
