Best thing you can do get an ipad with 3g capability buy a sim card after arrival and request a train card so you can recharge it , walk walk wlak and use the train there is lot of things to see including sun yat sun memorial, chimelong paradaise, tv tower, etc if you like bars hit me up i have a friends that owns 2 of them in a highclass area been there done that great view quite some forigners ^^ and very expensive cars,,, good luck

To start, something that will allow you to do whatever you want. Use the metro, or start slectin a hotel closer to metro station. You can go the whole city with its nice metro.

Just hang around as there is plenty to see. Rent a bike and cycle in town. If you have a strong stomach, go to a market where you will find unimaginable animals/living creatures on sale. And, if you are lucky enough, you may witness how do they sell frogs, for instance... When you leave, take a boat down the Pearl River to Hong Kong. You won't regret it!

well frankly "GZ" is loud, crowdy and at the moment busy with constructions coz of the upcoming Asia Games in October; i suggest your visit during a weekend, then u have a better chance to get a bit fresher air ;-) Tianhe District near the pearl river is not a bd place to be, and the new Ritz Carlton hotel is worth RMB
