Depends where you go, i live in Northern Ireland, which is the place to go if you want to see the Giant's Causway, Carrickareed Bridge, The Mourne Mountains, the town of Hillsborough and Lough Erne. If you go to Southern Ireland you'll get more of the traditional green open fields and countryside with small traditional villages. Over-all i think it's worth you coming here!

If you are asking about Southern Ireland the republic, its very beautiful amazingly green and has a relaxed atmosphere about it. very good for backpacking as it's a growing European Union country with not too many tourists, cheap and good hostels. Walking is a must In Howth and the trains are great!

You need time to visit Ireland because the best way to see it is slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwly. It's very green, hence it can rain quite often and you'll have to hide in a pub waiting for the shower to stop, so you'll meet locals who'll invite you for a beer, and then there will be something else to sidetrack you... like some gig... After 4 hours you'll finally arrive at the place you wanted to see. Then it will rain again and you'll hide in the pub for a guinness and so on and so forth... It's a beautiful country though

Awesome people, fantastic food and beer (after a day out in the rain anything hot is great anyway :). I've only been to the country side, no big cities, but I loved it. It's magical and quiet but exhilarating at the same time.

Dublin is a bustling busy city, nice to visit once to say you've been there - but the REAL Ireland is outside of Dublin. I spent 10 days in Ireland and, despite the cold and daily rain, found the southern and western sides of the country to be absolutely breath-taking.

Great people, good food. Dublin is very pretty city with lots of cultural sites to visit. From Guinness factory to Trinity College. Out of the cities it's a very green country.

What is Ireland like? Everchanging weather: from deep blue sky [that would be good, for example for Tchinghiskhan with his Faith in the Sky, but he was never there ;)] and in minutes to heavy shower clouds without precitipation ;) - in Ukraine we name it as "mryaka" - water in the air, but not in drops... People are great & amazingly friendly, even officials: customs officers, for example, who in the beginning very thoroughly checked your passport and finds out that it's OK, can show you thumb-up and say like a auld fellow: "Welcome to Eire, lad!!!" - the same with many other people: in hotels, shops, pubs [piubs], anywhere else!... ;) What is interesting for stranger, that citizens of the Isle like to ask with humour of course, but quite with true interest: "So, do you already invest in our economy?" - by souvenirs, in museums, pubs, restaurants, etc :) So, the Emerald Isle is amazing & Must-to-Visit place anyway!!! In Dublin oyu have to climb up to the foam of Guinness Storehouse, at least go to Wicklow mountains - to see how these low-flown clouds overclimb over tops of hills, gusts of random-directed winds there, multicoloured capets of roofs yond here & there, the gift of cannon from Kutuzov to Wellington at the ridge over sea, palm trees over moss - you have to see all of it !!! And some more: if you wanna feel the very nature of this land, you have to visit also as St.Patrick's with sir Swift's tomb & any pub with Guinness'n'Murfy but Microsoft, or Intel, of Dell, or IBM, or VMWare offices - then you'll understand and soak with this 'druidness'... at least I feel myself this way there... and now today they call me as 'IT-druid'... ;) So I wish you be the same feelings and 'aftermaths'... Good Luck & Bon Voyage there !!! May the Force be with you!!!

Ireland is an overwhelming, impressive country...I love it! People are so friendly and fun and helpful...the landscape is (wherever you'll go) breath-taking. There's a green, that can't be compared to any colour you've ever seen. Everytime I come home from Ireland I wonder why every tree looks grey ;) Even on rainy days it's beautiful. The music is sweeping, sad, angry, melancholy, vivid...every mood you can imagine. Hotels and restaurants and so on are quite expensive but there are nice enough hostels all around Ireland that aren't that pricey.

Rainy. :o) But the nature is wonderful because of this. Very green. And the people are verrry kind. I hitch-hiked there, and it was easy, and during the 2 weeks 3 people offered to stayed in their house.

Ireland is beautiful. The Irish weather is ever-changing. Their history is amazing and wondrous. The Irish are generally friendly and beautiful people. Their music and dance are phenomenal. Their literature is exemplary. Irish beer is the best. Irish whisky is unbelievable. Their food is …hmmm…grand? Good Journeys!

beautiful green pearl with friendly people and very expensive standard. Dublin is a must see tourist attraction. I recommend you to visit wicklow county and rural Ireland. Food is tipically british in Dublin: fish and chips and Mcdonald's can be found on every corner
