You have to go to ponte rialto, a beautiful bridge in Venice. From this bridge, you have the famous view of Venice. I spent 15 minutes there, just watching the people and the boats.

Escape the tourists and head out to Buruno and Murano, two islands off the coast that can easily be reached by vaporetto (ferry- buy a day ticket- cheaper). Worth it for a half- full day trip and it is really something special- brightly coloured houses, canals, amazing food. One of my highlights of Venice was sitting in the sun eating spaghetti with fresh prawns and tomato on Murano. Bliss! you will not be disappointed.

You have to go on the Rialto Bridge, you will be amazed. But that you probably know already. :))

Pretty much most of Venice is a major tourist attraction itself. But what i found to escape the high prices around the main plaza. Was we followed some of the gondalers when they finished work. That took you further into Venice itself and there you meet the real Venetian's and extremely lower prices for everything. A glass of wine went form 6 euro in the sq to 2 euro.
