in tamale on the street as a snack you can buy "kosi", if you find the right woman it's really great!!! But there are two different kinds, so try to find the spicy one named kosi. too good to be true!!

Red Red is awesome! It's plantains with red beans! Fantastic dish! Also, I recommend tryin boiled yams with palava sauce! Yum! Just thinking about it is making me crave for some now! xD

All the answers here are great but really, consider what your tummy can handle first. We cook quite a bit with spices and spicy stuff in Ghana if you have an aversion to spicy food, you may want to be careful. Wakye or Waachi is a good idea, to start. In fact, try everything. You'll have lots of stories to tell when you get back. Akwaaba!!

I had the chicken kabob...a little different than in the States, but good. You shouldn't be spending a whole lot on food, b/c really good stuff is quite cheap.

bein a ghanaian i'll tell you "fufu" and "lightsoup" a speciality of the Akans and Fantes.you'll love it. you can also try "banku" and okro stew or kenkey and fish, traditional dish of the Ga's.

I think is how it is spelled, you will see it on road side stands, depending on where you are staying there is a great bbq roadside stand across the street from 'Busy internet' and down the road a bit towards the main roundabout I don't remember the name of the round about but they have great sticks of meat. or Grilled beef with chili powder as it is also called
