If you wanna stay away from the tourists and if you still wanna go on a safari, I definitely recommend Selous game reserve and Ruaha. Less tourists than the Serengeti or the Crater, but just as beautiful. You won't see rinos there though... Also very nice is Udzungwa, a tropical jungle in the mountains with waterfalls where monkey species live that you can only find there and nowhere else. Zanzibar is like a tropical paradise, but the local people there will try and rip you off and you'll see a lot of tourists there as well. But there are still some breathtaking beaches there away from all that.

Ooh, really depends what you like. If you want to see chimpanzees, head way east to Gombe Stream. If you want beaches and relaxation, Zanzibar Island (particularly north) is where you can go. Great scuba diving there as well! For an unbelievable Safari experience including the "Big 5", I recommend the Serengeti or the Ngorongoro Crater. Then finally if you want a challenge or like to climb mountains there's Mount Kilimanjaro and the slightly more technical Mount Meru close by.

Definitely the standard places - Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Zanzibar, kilimanjaro, arusha...they are all popular for a reason! Also consider stopping into Olduvai Gorge. Refered to as "The Cradle of Mankind", it is home to some of the oldest traces of human civilization. It's located on the eastern Serengeti Plains in northern Tanzania.

Obviously Ngorongoro and Serengeti (especially the balloon safari) are great. The Arusha National park however is very underrated! It is fabulous with lots of beautiful scenery and great ildlife including hundreds of thousands of resident Flamingos.

mambo vipi, all of tanzania is just stunning. as the others say ruaha and selous(biggest game reserve in africa) and less tourist. zanzibar is getting crowded, option is kilwa, mtwara(mainland and nice beaches). mbeya and iringa are also very nice places. usambara mountains beautiful. a must is changani beach just 2hrs south of dar, take the ferry to kigamboni and then about 30km south where you have bush and beach inclusive wildlife monkeys, fisheagles, palmvultures and plenty of pretty birds. safari njema

Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Tarangire. If you want to have some breathtaking views, check Lake Manyara too altough the wildlife there is not as great as in the other spots. Ngorongoro is my favorite place on earth...

Ngorongoro is the best place to see the animals. We saw all the Great Five. The view from the edge of the crater is so wonderful as well. Lake Manyara was also very nice at that same 3-day-safari we did.

I LOVE zanzibar! Getting lost in stone town, eating street food, and the beaches are lovely too. Of course loved climbing kili, ngorongoro crater, lake manyara as well. I also had a lot of fun in dar and Arusha. Haha...I think I just love Tanzania ;)

Hey Mohamed - lots of great suggestions here. The Serengeti and Nogorongoro Crater are popular for good reason - you'll see so much wildlife! I would also suggest Selous for a less popular option. As for Zanzibar I think it is great, but nobody has mentioned Pemba island yet. It is north of Zanzibar island and offers a bit more seclusion with all the great island experiences. Have fun!
