Granada is an university town, so if you are looking for lots of young people and nightlife, better you go when the university is open. The city is quite alive even in summer, but mostly by tourists, and the temperature is very hot (up to 40 and more). Best time is autumn or spring. If you plan to visit Alhambra, make sure to reserve at least 15-20 days before on the website or you'll have to wait *long*.

Not in the summer, it is so hot. I lived in Spain for 2 years and can say that it is a killer in comparison to other cities in the summer.

I would say in spring. Then all the trees and flowers are in full bloom. Visiting the Alhambra then is spectacular with all the gardens in bloom. The temperatures are still moderate and the city is not too crowded with tourists.

Easter is great with all the celebrations (I mean the street parades). you don't need to be religious to enjoy it, especially the one that goes through the Old Town on Good Thursday after nightfall. on the other hand, the students are out and the tourist are in then, so think about coming earlier or staying for more time...

I agree. You must try to avoid to go there from june to september, because it's really hot, and also because there is no students there in the summer. You can go there any time for good weather, cause it usually don't rain, but the pretty season,as they said will be spring or autumn
