I believe June is a great month where you can find good weather, low prices and desert beaches. August is too crowded. January is usually freezing, but lately the weather has been quite odd and is difficult to predict: I've seen cold weather with rain in August and I've been in the beach in late November...

The best weather you usually get is the last couple weeks of july and the beginning of august. Ive been there may -september and it gets pretty hot, it is true that august is the most crowded because of Holiday. But it is also a lot of fun.

Beach season is from May to September. But the best month is July. August is overcrouded everywhere...

You should definitely choose anywhere from June to October. I've been to the beach in Lisbon as late as November. Always better if you choose the south part, it is always warmer. But don't go South in August if you don't like a crowded beach!

It depends on a bunch of variables. if it's the south, then from May to October you can go to the beach and have a swim. The further you go up north the more you have to go during summer, meaning July-august, but most probably the water might be cold. Personally, I find the best time to be september, less crowded, often nicer weather than in August (when it can rain a lot), and beaches from central to south portugal will be just fine.

It depends on the city but if it's in the north it's cold..but it only snows in one region, The best month to go to the beach and visit Portugal is without a doubt August. Happy travelling :)

I've been there the end of February and in the very South (Lagos) it's already quite warm by that time. Not too hot, but still "beach" weather and it was not crowded at all, too. But that's only in the South, further north it was a lot colder and cloudy most of the time.
