im from east of indonesia, Molluca (Maluku spices island). You can go to Molluca on the east. there you can enjoy diving, snorkeling. you can also take a trip to other island name Banda, then climbe to a volcano for 1 day go and back. if you are still young and strong brain, better dont try to take a guide. you are very welcome to asking a local people. maybe not so better in english gramatic but you will get info exatcly what you need.To a place named seram, you can take an adventure in the junge, national park which we called a paradise. this time you have to take a guide with you, coz this place is too far and walking about 3 day then you will find that place. then you have more then 2 days to search all inside this national park. its so adventure. hope you like. thanks!

Go to Bali, Indonesia (island of the gods) you will not regret it scuba and all. It's a wonderful place the nicknae doesn't lie.

Not sure about diving in Indonesia, but I can tell you that you MUST visit Borobudur temple in Magelang (Central Java). It is a wonder to behold! Also, there are cultural centers to help teach about the traditions of dance, gamelan music, and shadow puppet shows (check in Bali). Check them out! It is such a colorful and magical cultural heritage!

I don't know much about diving areas, but places you should visit regardless would be the two temple complexes near Yogyakarta on Java: Borobudur and Prambanan. Both were built around the 9th century and lie within 70 km of each other. Borobudur is a Buddhist temple (one of if not the largest in Southeast Asia), and Prambanan is a Hindu temple complex made up of over 200 "candis" (temples). I highly recommend both of them, but they're inland and not ideal for diving.

If you are in Indonesia and what to learn to dive (I'm guessing you mean SCUBA diving with Air bottles?), I'd highly recommend heading over to Sabah and learning out at Sipadan or Mabul islands. The dive operators there are very easy to deal with and maintain an excellent safety standard without making the whole trip about rules and regulations.

I believe your referring to Nitrox as opposed to the normal compressed air that is mainly used. Nitrox is compressed air with higher percentages of oxygen and lower percentages of carbon dioxide the normal air. I can't recommend any places there but can only stress that going to a professional dive shop is in your best interest for every dive. Good luck.
