Agree with going to Grand Place, and nearby we ate at Chez Leon, mussels were amazing. Been there since 1893, and usually pretty hopping. Sent my parents there as well, and they loved it. Although walking to it, there are plenty of restaurant options, all trying to lure you inside.

Definitely visit The Atomium and the Grand Place. And don't forget to buy Belgian chocolate!! There is this great chocolate shop on Grand Place. Also taste some Belgian waffles. The waffles near City2 Mall were great!

I'm local. Anyone saying Brussels isn't worth a visit is wrong. It's far more interesting than people think. Be sure to visit The Atomium, De Grote Markt (La grande place), the Music Instruments Museum (MIM) or The Horta Museum. You should try Belgian beers of course. Forget about manneke Pis. It's a silly statue.

Try some beer and chocolate. Visit the palace, the grand place, the mannakinpis and the main cathedrale where the royal family were married. There is also the european parliament and a lookout.

It's got to be Grand Place, Atomium and the quarter of the European Union. Forget Manneken Pis, nothing special! Don't miss Belgian French Fries as "Pommes Frites" are a Belgian invention and not "French" and they taste nowhere nearly as good. Have a great trip!

You start at the city center and take a walk from the stock market, passing the grand market, central station to the cathedral. If it is noon, you can go to the Zavel neighbourhood to look at the royal palace. For the evening, visit the Atomium, easy to access by metro and enjoy dinner in Bruparck. At the return, you should look at the grand market by night and manneke pis in the neighbourhood

Definitely the Grand Place at night. If you stay late enough, there is usually a video presentation projected on the buildings in the center. Just watch out for the really touristy restaurants. If there is no one there, the food is probably not too good.

the jeanneke pis statue is located in a small street near the famous 'rue des bouchers' street, which is filled all the way with restaurant. This street is near the Grand Place

You should visit the Grand place and Manneken Pis, but if you are in Belgium for a day, try a good restaurant (very expensive, but original) with some fine Belgian beer or try our famous Brussels Wafels or chocolate. Yummie!

The Grand Place is definitely the highlight of Brussels. The Manneken Pis nearby might leave you disappointed though, I find it small and unimpressive, but since it's just round the corner from the Grand Place you might as well see it. The Sablon is very nice, and a visit to the Horta Museum is very rewarding. There are many stunning Art Nouveau houses dotted all around the city. The Musee de la bande dessinee is also very nice if you have and interest in comics and Tintin. The Musee d'Art Nouveau and d'Art Ancien is great and look out for the brand new Magritte Museum which should be opening very soon. Don't miss the chocolate, wafels and mussels!

i agree! and if you go to Grande Place, search for the famous Manneken Pis, somewhere behind the Town Hall (the little peeing boy statue). You can also look for Jeanneke Pis Statue (this time it's a little girl), but i'm afraid i don't know the exact location.
